The purpose of this final inquiry project is to inspire educators to place emphasis on holistic wellness in the classroom. The following is a guideline of suggested activities, resources and projects to include for a year-long inquiry and reflective process surrounding holistic wellness. It is by no means prescriptive, but hopefully provides plentiful suggestions, resources, and guiding questions to explore wellness in the classroom. Enjoy!
* Please also use the topic exploration, and brainstorm for more information regarding the topic itself *
Unit Overview
This unit overview includes the essential questions, connections to inquiry, a general project overview and timelines and connections to the BC curriculum. Attached separately are suggestions for routines, resources, project guidelines, and rubrics.
Sample Lessons
I have chosen to provide 2 sample lessons. Due to the nature of this unit being very flexible, and up to teacher interpretation, prescriptive lessons are not necessary. The first is a sample lesson to help build community, and begin with self-reflection, and the second supports the teachings of the medicine wheel.
